According to Eurotransplant, 838 organs from deceased organ donors were transplantated 2017 in Austria. Organ transplantation allows severe ill patients a durable and sustained improvement of their health and quality of life and is often the only chance to live further. The nursing care of brain dead organ donors is object of this bachelor thesis and should expound those aspects in the care of brain dead patients with tremendous importance.
